The Cockatrice is a man-sized snake that has wings. It has no legs. When on the ground, it slithers. When it flies, it also slithers. The Cockatrice tends to be a very interesting thing to see. Like the basilisk, the cockatrice, can kill an individual with a glance. Treat the glance of a cockatrice as you would treat an Instant Death spell. The cockatrice is not an intelligent animal. It lives much as a snake would, except that in its lair, it has a nest. The cockatrice will usually live with a mate and several smaller cockatrice children. Cockatrice children, like basilisk children, have a glance attack, but at one third the strength. It takes a child cockatrice three attacks to kill an individual.
The bite of a cockatrice is poisonous. If an individual is bitten by a cockatrice, that individual must make a constitution check at -20. If they are successful, they will just become sick and temporarily lose 30 points from each of their statistics for the period of 1 month or until cured. If an individual fails the check, they will, within 1 to 6 minutes, fall unconscious and die within another 1 to 6 hours. If they are cured within this time, they will still lose 5 points from each of their statistics. These points can later be regained if the individual trains.

The cockatrice is a lizard/bird that has the ability to kill a person just by looking at them. They are also poisonous. The cockatrice is one of the monsters that can be found in the Bible. It was only mentioned once that I could find. Here's the quote:
Bible Isaiah 11:8
“And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’s den.”
